About Us

Our Story

Alternative Answers’s former name was ‘Back to Eden.’ It was established in 1984 by Gayle Francl for the primal purpose of bringing hope and encouragement to family and friends. Because of prolonged illness, and wanting answers beyond what Western medicine could offer, we continued to succeed in helping those who feel hopeless in their journey to better health.

In 2000, Back to Eden’s name was changed to Alternative Answers. It’s foundation was built on offering natural medicine to aid in acute and chronic illnesses. Among those products were homeopathic remedies, herbals, and a wide variety of nutritional supplements. Alternative Answers thrived in helping people with all kinds of health challenges. It was officially handed over to Keri Francl in 2015. Since then, we have added more tools for analyzing health and wellness.

After four years of school, Keri received her Bachelor Degree in Natural Health Science and was Certified as a Holistic Nutritionist. Keri furthered her education and after another four years of schooling, she obtained her Doctorate in Natural Medicine. She completed her board exams in Los Vegas, NV, and became a Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor. She is certified with the American Naturopathic Medical Certification Board.

We are excited to help those who need answers to their illness! We look forward to being a part of your health journey!

Naturopathic medicine

Naturopathic medicine has been a distinct natural health care profession for one hundred years. It is based on the timeless philosophy of Vis Medicatrix Naturae, "the healing power of nature." This means that all true healing is the result of the body/mind’s natural ability to heal itself. Naturopathic physicians help to remove the obstacles to cure and employ natural therapies that strengthen and stimulate the body/mind’s own healing processes. They treat the whole person (i.e. physically mentally and socially) with natural health care tailored to meet the individual’s personal needs. Naturopathic physicians use a variety of natural therapies, including:

  • Counseling (diet, lifestyle & psychological)
  • Clinical Nutrition
  • Homeopathy
  • Botanical Medicines (herbs)
  • Physical medicine
  • Acupuncture
  • Functional Medicine
  • Bio-identical Hormone Therapy

Scope of Practice

In a growing number of states Naturopathic physicians are licensed as general practitioners. In the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Kansas, Hawaii, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregan, Utah, Vermont, and Washington, they provide preventive care, diagnose disease using the standard laboratory tests and medical exams, and treat the whole family using natural therapies. They function as part of the larger medical community and refer to the appropriate specialists whenever indicated. Naturopathic physicians successfully treat people who have acute problems like minor injuries and infections, but their greatest strength is the treatment of people with chronic diseases. Dr. Francl specializes in aucte and chronic health problems but does not offer diagnostic or primary care services.

In Nebraska, Naturopaths are not currently licensed because of the political environment. This means Dr. Francl may not function as a physician, diagnosis, or replace the necessary services of a licensed primary care provider. Fortunately, many people are still able to recover their health despite these limitations.
