About Us
Alternative Answers is a three-generation family practice, proud to serve patients from all over the world.
Dr. Keri is known for her root-cause approach — combining multiple tools and testing to get to the why behind your symptoms, not just the what. Her methods have been featured in TopDoc Magazine.
Our Story
Alternative Answers began in the 1980s in Palmer, Nebraska, when Tod and Gayle Francl — farmers by trade — turned to natural medicine after conventional doctors couldn’t explain their own symptoms. What they found changed everything.
Soon, their kitchen table became a clinic. Neighbors would call about a sick child, and less than thirty minutes later they’d be standing on the porch, leaving with a brown paper sack of homeopathics and supplements — and answers no one else had given them.
Around the same time, a young Keri was under the care of Dr. Dority, a Kearney chiropractor whose Standard Process nutrition protocols finally cleared the sinus infections and allergies she’d battled for years. It was her first glimpse of what natural medicine could do.
When Keri married Gayle’s son, Ryan, natural medicine became the family’s way of life. Then in 2011, a tick bite after mowing the lawn left Keri bedridden with Lyme disease for days. Gayle, using her own muscle-testing methods, guided her to a DesBio Lyme relief kit — and Keri’s symptoms broke almost immediately. That recovery lit a fire inside her. She went on to earn her degree in Natural Medicine and became a Certified Naturopath.
In 2015, that generations-long calling became Alternative Answers, opening its doors at 705 West Koenig Street.
Today, the practice is carried forward by the second and third generations: Dr. Keri and her daughter, Keegan, who leads the business side and works alongside her mother to weave food and lifestyle into every patient’s healing path.
Their mission remains the same one Tod and Gayle started with — to empower men and women through life’s hardest health journeys, whether that’s growing a family, facing chronic illness, or aging with strength. Through root-cause, whole-body care, they help people build resilient bodies so they can keep showing up as the steady center of their families.

Our Scope of Practice
In a growing number of states Naturopathic physicians are licensed as general practitioners. In the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Kansas, Hawaii, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregan, Utah, Vermont, and Washington, they provide preventive care, diagnose disease using the standard laboratory tests and medical exams, and treat the whole family using natural therapies. They function as part of the larger medical community and refer to the appropriate specialists whenever indicated.
Naturopathic physicians successfully treat people who have acute problems like minor injuries and infections, but their greatest strength is the treatment of people with chronic diseases. Dr. Francl specializes in acute and chronic health problems but does not offer diagnostic or primary care services.
In Nebraska, Naturopaths are not currently licensed because of the political environment. This means Dr. Francl may not function as a physician, diagnosis, or replace the necessary services of a licensed primary care provider. r health despite these limitations.
Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine has been a distinct natural healthcare profession for one hundred years. It is based on the timeless philosophy of Vis Medicatrix Naturae, “the healing power of nature.” This means that all true healing is the result of the body/mind’s natural ability to heal itself. Naturopathic physicians help to remove the obstacles to cure and employ natural therapies that strengthen and stimulate the body/mind’s own healing processes. They treat the whole person (i.e. physically mentally and socially) with natural health care tailored to meet the individual’s personal needs. Naturopathic physicians use a variety of natural therapies, including
